At Drs. Jacobs and Diaz, Optometrists, community is a driving force behind all we do. Blacksburg, and the entire NRV is an amazing place, filled with warm, wonderful, and committed people. We can’t help but want to do what we can to support it, and particularly reach out to those of our neighbors in need.
Our efforts include visits to Warm Hearth Village and Heritage Hall bringing eye care to those unable to travel to see us; providing ultra low or no-cost eye care and services for those referred through our local Lions Clubs, VISION USA, and To Our House (serving homeless men during the winter months); raising awareness and funds for VICCC and NRV Cares (two local non-profits dedicated to some of our most vulnerable community members) thru our Annual Trunk Show and Local Charity Fundraiser; and providing $1000s of dollars a year in support for a wide array of local organizations. For our whole staff, community service is a vital and rewarding part of every day.
